Philip H. from Belfast writes: Just to let you know. I have been in contact with Dennis S in Dublin with a view to starting Lifering meetings in Belfast Northern Ireland. I have the necessary clean and sober time.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Lifering in Northern Ireland. We have come out of many years of conflict, and there is an air of peace and reconciliation. Lifering will appeal to the non-denominational cross-community mind set which is slowly bearing fruit. The Belfast meetings will have close links with Dublin instead of the UK simply because its more practical than ideological. Lifering will be seen as a cross border, peaceful initiative which will make it easier for networking with other community groups. This mindset is the way forward for lasting peace in Ireland, North and South.
So we will gratefully accept all the help we can get. I believe there are meeting packs available with some books available
Lifering meetings will take place At The Quaker Meeting House, Frederick Street, Belfast on Tuesdays at 8 pm
There will be an introductory presentation on Tuesday 7th September by Dennis S the area convener. This is open to anyone with an interest in recovery.
Regular meetings will start from Tuesday 14th September at 8 pm. If you or a member of your family has substance abuse issues then you are welcome to attend.
Thanks.
